Question 6 ports and VDI

Hey Guys

I was just reading a post about the 6 port actuators and the VDI. I have noticed that some people have figured out ot use a rpm activated switch to open the ports but what about the VDI system. I just finished putting in my engine and use a Racing Beat road race header that I grabbed off my bridge ported 1st gen, but it has no air tube provision. The ACV is still on the manifold but I dont have the air pump in and ACV is not hooked to the what use to be the cat. Any ideas as how to get the VDI to work or any info on how it works wether its vacuumm and if so at what negitive pressure. Also id the VDFI hooked to the port actuators at all or the ACV. I just remembered that the rpm activated switch for the port actuators still needs positive pressure to work, that would exlpain why some of you have kept the air pump in place.

I forgot to ask another question,
If you unplug and take out the ACV wont it throw a code.

Well you might as well remove your ACV cause its not doing anything without the airpump, and no it won't throw a code. For now your easiest option is gonna be to just wire the VDI open. It will hurt your low-end, but not by much.
