ok throwing this way off topic... but most grads today are pretty stupid and have no idea how to manage money. I have plenty of friends (we are late 20's into the 30's) and most live at home with crappy part time jobs, but they have fun and get laid all the damn time. And quite frankly, it's driving me nuts! I've had a full time job for 8 years, my own place (moved out 8 years ago), 2 cars, a Rolex and a good amount of money in the bank (and mutual funds). all with no college education.

I am miserable, and I still spent too much money on a stupid RX-7

But anyway, OP should spend money on the RX-7 because we're all fucked anyway; have some fun and don't have any regrets. Also, I have a beefy cast iron Greddy manifold sitting doing nothing. If one were so inclined...

I agree with this. If I weren't spending money on my 7, I would be spending it somewhere else. I do agree that savings is important, but realistically I don't have much money to save unless I gave up the 7 ( not happening) and bought a more fuel efficient car seeing as I drive quite a bit for fun. Unfortunately life is short and could be taken at any minute and I'd rather spend my time and effort doing something that makes me happy. After college is another story as I will be making a lot more money than the average graduate lol.
