6 port turbo factory internal wastegate mounting options needed:

I'm about half way through my 6 port turbo project and I'm looking at wastegate mounting options. Aaron Cake's method (unless I've gone retarded) of using a bicycle gear cable is useless as the wastegate opens the flapper by pushing the arm rather than pulling.

Share your setup or suggestions, I plan to use a similar spacer as the one on Aaron's page.

it doesn't so much PUSH the door open...there is exhaust gas trying to open the door all the time...the cable "allows" it to open.

Reverse the direction of the pull...

(I thought that part was obvious....)

You can also just mount the actuator higher up on the compressor and then modify the arm.

Or ditch the internal wastegate and add an external unit to your spacer.

its not so bad if you have the tools and know how to do it. plus youll be able to change boost pressure with out a boost controller.

If the wastegate actuator was mounted on the turbine side the arm would still extend to PUSH the flapper closed (or attempt to) as pressure would be applied to it...the simple fact that it is a push type actuator means a cable cannot be used.

Well, I ended up using Aaron's idea of mounting the wastegate farther up the compressor housing using the factory wastegate line bracket, hacksaw-ing part of a front license plate adapter and using it as a secondary arm for the wastegate. Really ghetto but it seems to work, I tried to take a video of it operating and failed miserably (holding camera and flashlight still while applying 10+ psi on the trans fluid pump and trying to wedge it between my knees) so heres a pic:

It will be finished with washers added to the flapper connection to prevent lateral movement of the arm. I'll probably use red locktite on the actuator > arm connection bolt and nut. Any constructive criticism is appreciated haha
