5th Gear/Reverse Switch question on wires?

5th Gear/Reverse Switch question on wires?
OK. I can't understand the wiring diagram for the 5th gear/reverse switch. Can anybody explain the 4 wire that come off the switch. 2 red, and 2 green. What each of the wires for??? Also, I've searched but nothing came up that fully explain each of the wires.
