5th/6th ports

ok so one of my actuators is seazed and wont budge at all. i was wondering if there was any way i could clean it myself or do i have to buy a new one? how much are they new?

do a search, but this is what I did: I sprayed carb cleaner in the hose that is used to activated the ports. I let the car run at 4000 rpms about for like 5 min then I sprayed some more in, and repeated it til the can was empty. I also took one of the hoses off on the throttle body and sprayed it in there.

It's the valve inside the intake port that seizes, not the pressure-fed actuator. If you disconnect the actuator's arm from the end of the shaft it's connected to, you should be able to push down on the post coming out of the actuator, but you probably won't be able to turn the shaft that goes into the engine. Taking it apart to clean those valves is a fairly big job if you're new to this sort of thing. (The entire intake has to come off the engine.)

sometimes you can work them loose. Mine were stuck when i got the car but now they work fine... lots of WD-40 all over it and a few blisters from turning the thing by hand.

Works good now though.
