5k rpm hesitation
5k rpm hesitation
I tried searching but couldnt seem to get any good results or think of the right search terms..
Ive only had the car for a week so go easy on me if this is something stupid. I was driving home from the theater today and got on a freeway onramp. I dont usually push the car past 4k , but i decided to go to redline for pretty much only the second time ever. I was in third gear and on the gas, when i hit 5k it felt like it stuttered or backed off, so i shifted. Car drove home fine and all the gauges seemed to read normal. I do not have an aftermarket boost gauge, but i was told the car is 99% stock (has aftermarket cat, but thats burned out i think, doesnt pas emissions). Is it possible im hitting fuel cut? Im kinda confused, any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

I have this hesitation whenever I accelerate right around 3500-4000 RPM
The dreaded 3800 RPM hesitation is cause 90% of the time by poor ground connections between the engine, the battery, and the car. Clean or replace all the under hood ground connections. Some people have also claimed replacing/regrounding the pressure sensor's ground wire has helped. If there is still a problem after that, look at cleaning the fuel injectors and (on a N/A) that your 5th/6th ports are operating correctly.
Near the top of the 2nd gen page there is a FAQ, it will answer alot of your questions. If the grounding doesnt solve anything you might want to ajdust the ohms going to you TPS (throttle position sensor) should be around 2 IIRC
