Arrow 5000 rpm

on my way home from work i decided to gun it. at about 5 grand it hesitated. it never did that before. so i tokk it easy till i was home. when i got there i reved it up and right at 5200 it started boncing from 5000 to 5200 rpm as if there were some kind of rev limiter. does anybody know what could be causing this?

so heres whats been goin on. about two weeks ago my temp guage, which normally doesn't work, sky rocketed. i broke down. i changed the water pump and thermostat. the temp guage now doesnt do anything again. but im having these isues now. is it a possibility that i blew the water jackets or seals or whatever? when i rev it up to where it starts to bounce white smoke starts coming out of the tail pipes. i tried to upload some vieos but could't get it to work. thanks for any help

Bubble test or pressure test cooling system if you suspect it.

i read that if you start the engine with the rad cap off and the coolant shoots up then your engine is trashed. so i tried it and nothing happened. i looked for bubbles and didnt see any. so i bought a lisle yellow funnel and still no bubbles unless i reved the engine. i also let it run for about half an hour with no hick ups like before. this is really frustrating. please help!
