5 Volt Sensors?

How many other TII sensors are 0-5Volt sensors?

I have;

TPS
&
Boost Sensor

are there any others?
I.E. intake or water temp, or anything else?

Thanks,

Robert

afm is 0-5v (actually its 5-0v)
boost sensor
the tps
the sensor under the dash they use as a baro sensor (they sometimes call it pressure sensor, its map sensor)

and i think thats it

Tsk, tsk.......the never to be forgotten Variable Resistor got ...forgotten! Just follow the pin 2A in the schematic that deals with E.G.I and Emission Control, in your handy, factory FSM.

Can you elaborate a little more please Hailers. I.E what is the varabile resistor?

As Hailers has siad, pin 2A is the 5V output from the ECU. Look at page 50-25 of the 88 FSM, find pin 2A and follow the line to the airflow meter, throttle position sensor, variable resistor, manifold pressure sensor and atmospheric pressure sensor. Those are the only 5V sensors.

THE Variable Resistor is the item I on occasion screw one way then the other to ammuse myself while looking at my Wideband at idle. And it's for idle mixture only. It is on all the 86-88 cars.

In 89 they came out with the *Not quite as good* series five RX7....which does not have this play thing for mucking around and messing up your idle at will.

P.S. you just gotta get yourself a factory fsm. It's(variable resistor) in there in spades along with the wiring schematics. Or you can subscribe to ALLDATADIY.COM and look there, although it's nowhere near as good as the fsm. What's that other book??? Haymes manual? The one that I use as a beer can coaster. It has somethings in there also. Sorta.

I have a digital copy of the FSM. I just don't quite understand how it tells you those are 5V connections.

Manifold pressure sensor, will that give many any infor thats useful for logging? or is it the same as the boost pressure sensor more or less?

yeah on an s5 car the only way to make it run is to have everything right. s4 you have a little fundge room, because of that resistor

You have to actually read it, not just look at the pretty pictures.

Manifold pressure sensor is the more accurate name for what some call the boost sensor. Same thing.

Where ever you see a Brown wire with a white stripe.....thats approx 5v ref voltage. Each of the plugs on the items above should have a brown/white wire.

As you know, or should know.....I know zipity do dah about LOGGING. I would think that your wanting to attach your *device* to the output of those senders.....which ain't the brown/white wire. But then again, logging is something I thought you did in the RedWood forest when the govment wern't a lookin. So take that piece of advice with a grain of salt.

j9fd3s.....If I'd a known that the acv that you were selling was as good and as close to new as it was...I'd a sent you another ten bucks to boot. That's the first acv I've ever had that didn't leak , have burnt diaphrams inside etc.

The easiest way to tell is just to look at the 5V output from the ECU. There are a few resistive sensors in addition. Someone might call these 5V sensors as well.

The place in the fsm that tells you what is what, more or less, is the CONTROL UNIT page. It shows the outputs/inputs of each pin on the ECU. I've posted those pages several times in the past trying to give 'em a clue what's going on. I remember doing that recently...as in the last two weeks or so.
