5-6 port ?

i have an 87 na and was wondering what are the pro's/con's of closing the 5th 6th ports by removing air pump?

this is a topic that can quite easily be searched upon. Doing a search on the key words 'close 6 ports', got some good results on past threads on the very same topic

Long story short (you could have found all of this with search for "wiring ports", and there was a long thread covering this just a few days ago) there are no gains by wiring the ports open, and certainly no gains by keeping them closed.

Also, the ports in the '86-'88 are primarily opened by exhaust backpressure, so the air pump really doesn't have much to do with it.

on s4 cars taking the air pump off has no effect on the ports. only s5's are effected by this.
