Question 4k cut-off & Odd wobbling issue questions

First, question 1): Start car, fine; idle, fine; rev to 4k *KAPUT* Cut off. Like it just STOPS making anything and falls back down to normal idle.

WTF?!

Second: I was talking to a buddy who also has an FC and we were discussing this odd and irregularly occurring wobble... Like BAD feeling wobble, like only one rotor's firing (think off-balance).

What can cause these problems.


Before anyone asks, As far as MY car is concerned, I haven't gotten deep enough into it to be able to answer ALL of the questions about what's been done. A couple other7 owners have told me that it's ported (as judged by the idle) and OBVIOUSLY it's boosted, but beyond that, not much (was told it had new seals, too).

So... What causes the 4k dump and what can cause the irregular wobble?

At just under 4000 rpm the secondary injectors kick in. If you can slowly increase the rpm from under 4000 to above 4000 then this might be your problem.

That sounds like it! Hmm... Now all I need to do is source some, locally, for cheap, and I'm in there!

Any ideas what the specs on the injectors are - both primary and secondaries?

That info is in the FAQ section. The secondary injectors might be just fine but that doesn't mean they are wired properly and so on. You need to go to the ECU and use an LED light to verify whether the secondary injectors are being provided with a trigger signal to fire or not.

Point made and taken!

When I get back into the shop, tomm, I'll look into it.

I know there's some Beastie Boy's level funky **** going on with the ECU, but I was told that there was an issue causing it to dump HELLA rich and so something was unplugged from the ECU.

I got nothin'

Ohmmeter and laptop will solve it, I'm sure! Too bad the FD ECU won't work with the Tii harness, I 've got an extra one laying around.
