LIGHT??? a pretty standard modded FC weighs in at about 1300kg.
i got mine back to around 1250kg... that is definately NOT light!
a light car IMO is weighs around 1000kg, maybe even less.

but a stock FC i just as easy to wreck if you dont know what you are doing...
it all depends on your mind and foot!

I still want to daily drive my FC should i shoot for 250-300whp instead? And if I chose to go for less power, what would the cost difference be as wsell as woulda TMIC be able to handle it?

that is a much better goal.

once you get past the 350-400whp mark everything gets like 3 times more expensive.

ok... lets see

your selling your FC's because you need a larger car
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=785081

you also want to know what it takes to get 400hp out of a FD
https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/400-whp-799696/

I am confused... what is it you want to do???

I think by this time, if you are serious... then you need to spend WAY more time reading all the available information that is readily available all over this forum

I understand what you're saying, but relative to most cars with 450rwhp, its very light. Plenty of people get Camaros, trans ams, mustangs, diesel trucks, (v8 powered stuff) etc. to 450rwhp. Those cars are decently fast but not nearly as hard to control because they're heavier and more stable. I guess I should say the power to weight ratio in a 450rwhp FC is most likely far beyond anything he's ever driven or even ridden in.

I was going to sell my FCs because my girlfriend hated the car, as well as she told me we were expecting a child so i thought i needed a larger car. Since then weve parted ways and luckely no child is on the way. As for the FD a friend I work with told me his friend has a clean 94 FD for sale for only 6k, so i got exctied and wanted to know what i could do with it once i got it, After seeing the car i was greatly dissapointed. It had had an engine fire, the interior was coated in mold from a leak, and the tranny was in another car.

Ive made up my mind and decided that My FC means more to me than any other car could ever, so i want to make it run again, and i want it to run hard.

There are a couple options.

But first you will need a TII drivetrain...Then send off the core to get rebuilt, calculate in the cost of a housing and a rotor just in case a apex seal took a dump in your engine.

If you're that serious about it. Save your money, sell that FC, and buy a used, mildly modded FC. It'll be less expensive and less headache(if the sellers honest).

If you are serious about a 400-450rwhp car you are best starting off with a car that is as stock and low mileage as possible (and preferably already a T2). In my experience you can spend a lot of time redoing some previous owner's "genius" repairs and modifications, especially in the vacuum routing and wiring department. This is coming from someone who is putting his own 450rwhp setup together right now (T04R, 720/1680, Power FC, HKS twin power, Greddy FMIC, etc)

Ive thought about doing it to a TII but i cant find any for sale around me and the only one I have found was $12,000 with 160xxx miles and i wasnt going to invest in it because its a heap. Ive checked the forum as well as Ebay, Craigslist, and autotrader. Have I missed any good sites to try and find one?

Ps. I dont want to spend much more than 5k on one unless its in good shape, the ones ive seen have no compression at all left.

you need to be willing to drive 500+ miles for a good car.

As a DD I think you should keep it as stock as possible. It already gets pretty horrible gas mileage.

Buy a TII, or if you already have a clean N/A, then just get a TII swap. It'll be much MUCH cheaper than a 450hp DD.
