40-70 Time=1/4 Mile Time??

As I will probably never have my car to the track, just curious if anyone has ever tried the 40/70 run in 3rd, and knows what their 1/4 mile time might be.
On the way home from a car show I decided I would give it a try. 2 runs, 1 each way 4.22 & 4.39. S5TII with all accessories still intact.
Just curious as to what I might keep up with out there.
Thanks guys.

so your car is stock?
If so your 1/4 mile should be around low 15s

40 mph is mid second gear territory. Heck, I'd just wind second up to 8k from 40.

People don't seem to want to agree to a standard, so the numbers are useless.
I've always argued to cruise the car at 30 - 35mph and then punch it, hitting the stop watch at 40mph and then again at 70mph in 3rd gear.

I was able to hit 5.75 seconds doing this, the car back then was a mid to high 14-second car.

Your 4-second runs are fricken fast - I would hazard a guess it's easily a 13-second 1/4-mile.

Thanks, Ted. Yea, everyone seems to disregard the "Forum Standard" on the 40/70 run as you have explained. I've noticed in a few rare instances when the occasion permits, the car runs fantastic. As long as the wife isn't with me! I think I'll install the Apexi intake and cold air box, and see if it picks up the time a little and keeps the boost up.
Just an FYI-S5TII Bonez DP and Hiflow cat, factory "Y" and mufflers. G Force ecu, and all the rest still factory including the air box.
Thanks again.

it don't take much to make these cars fast, eh?

I don't see why you couldn't stay in 2nd till 70MPH, that's only like 7700RPM isn't it? (my MPH figures are a little off, since I'm canadian)

Only S5 non-turbos can do that... for all other FC's, that's 700RPM over the redline and out of the power band.
