4 port LIM on s4 gxl UIM

i did search but came up with far too much to sift through.

i have an s4 n/a with a blown 6port in it, and a streetport 4port engine sitting on my deck. what would be the cheapest way to run the 4port, manifold wise, so that i can drive it. is there a 4port LIM that I can use with my stock UIM.
sorry if the ? is noobish, but i'm still learning

If you're trying to get a 4 port motor to work in your 2nd gen you will have to use a carb setup. You won't be able to use a fuel injection intake manifold and expect it to work with your ecu.

carb setup would require money, which is what i dont have would it be worth it to throw the rotating assy. from the 4port into the 6port irons, or would i be better off trying to sell/ trade it for a running 6 port engine?

thanks

sell your 4 port or trade it for a 6 port...there is nothing interchangable between your 4 port and your 6 port except internals and you will need an expensive rebuild kit to do that.

out of curiosity, if the LIM was fabbed to fit the 4port (no emissions), what would cause it not to work with the ecu?

it will run with the stock ecu.

easiest way would be to get the 4 port manifolds and run it like it's a turbo motor with no turbo on the NA ecu.

if you have to use your 6 port manifolds there would be more fabbing/modifications involved to make it work well.

Can someone tell me (or him) why he cannot bolt the 6-port intake manifolds on the 4 port motor and run the car just like a de-emissions and de-6 ported(as in taking the sleeves out) motor??

are the bolt patterns different, or just the port shape\# of ports?

Bolt patterns between the 6 port and 4 port engine are the same, it's just the ports that are different. You can port the manifold to match...

4 port LIM will NOT bolt to the upper intake. Even if it did, the combination would be WAY too tall to fit under the stock hood.

Stock ECU will run a 4 port engine just fine.
