4 port or 6 port

A frienf of mine told me that the 86-88 NA models have six ports instead of four ports, is he correct, and if so is this better(i dont think so). He says that putting in a turbo will be harder due to being six port as opposed to turbo models being four port.
Someone please help me out. Thanks

the aux. ports have nothing to do with why turbo'ing is harder to do on an NA engine. NA engines are higher compression therefore don't allow as much boost.

Buy a Turbo II...it's not worth it to turbo an N/A engine, and only really worth swapping the engine and drivetrain and other stuff if you already have a lot of money into the non-engine parts of the car, and are attached to it (or just get a real good deal and have lots of times).

so working on lowering the compression, adding new apex seals, new rotors, etc, is all useless? I should just buy the turbo engine

Search. It will turn up much if not all the info that you need. The search button is in the upper right of the page.

Yea, i saw those pics the other day, and that guy is the man! But what i want to know is what would be easier, turbo an NA, buying a turbo engine, or maybe even just doing the whole engine myself?

What would be Easy?
Sell your NA and buy a Turbo II. done.

Hard?
Buy a j-spec engine and go haltec.

Harder?
Buy a j-spec and use the stock ECU and wiring harness when you DON'T have a parts car...this is a waste because in the end you'll still have a stock turbo II! *See easy above*

Hardest?
Do an NA -> Turbo conversion
