4 piston brakes?
I'm looking into getting an N/A FC and I'm wondering about the brakes. I've seen that some FC's have single piston brakes and some have 4 piston up front. Which ones have what? I'd also be considering a TII swap down the road so if I have to switch to 5 lug that would be acceptable. Thanks.

'86-'88 base models (SE in '88) had 4 lug single piston calipers all the way around. In the '89-'91 cars, the base models had 5 lug single piston calipers all the way around. All cars that were not base models regardless of year had 5 lugs with 4 piston calipers up front and single piston in the rear. These were not the only differences though. There are something like 6 total different brake boosters depending on which car and which year. All cars with single piston calipers had smaller brake boosters and smaller brake lines in front. All cars have the exact same rear brakes just different lug patterns so new rear lines are unneccesary. If you just swap out the 4 lug system to the 5 lugs the car won't stop as good. You'll need new front hard lines and a new brake booster. I did this conversion and it took 2 years to finally work the bugs out.
