4 lug and 5 lug proportioning valve diff.

what are the phisical diffrences between the 2? i did the 5 lug swap a whie back and i have been having problems with the rear locking up but never the fronts. hardly feels like the fronts grab. any one who has any idea on that? only thing i can think is the proportioning valve.

ya all 4 corrners were upgraded with re-man calipers all arround. i just noticed that i have a slight fluid level drop. filled up the mc about 3 weeks ago and its down to about 1/2 fluid now. but there is no odvious leaks could it be inside one of the calipers?

ok had another thought. could it be that the calipers were not seated properly from the get go?

I swapped to 4 pot brakes with the 4 lug prop valve without issue. I did change the master cylinder when I did the swap.

My fronts lock before the backs slightly, though it's an issue with the master (new one in the mail), so I doubt that is your issue. Are you sure the fronts are completely bled out?

Your master could also have a bad seal on the front brake portion.

humm. just put in a new master cyl. i dunno i think i might have a small leak in one of the front calipers. letting air into the system and a little fluid out but not enough to notice without checking fluid level. i will try bleeding the brakes again to see what happens. got to call up a friend.

Did you use a Master Cylinders from a 5-lug car (with 4-pot brakes)?

The proportioning valves are the same for 4 and 5 lug cars. The Master Cylinders are not.
