quick question, i was wondering what year the 2nd g's went from 4 lug to 5lug hubs?

it wasnt a year, it model specific, check the spefication FAQ for more info.

 

checked it, im guessing the models turboII and gtu (lsd models) are 5 lug

 

GXL's are 5 lug as well.

 

GTU has a lsd? I thought it was T2 and GXL

 

The 86-87 Base, Luxury and 87.5-88 SE all had 4 lug wheels.

All 86+ GXL, Sport, GTU, Convertibles, Turbos, GTUs models had 5 lug wheels.

The 86-88 GXL, 88 GTU, 89-90 GTUs model, and all Turbos (87-91) had a LSD.

Just remember, anything can technically have 5-lug and an LSD. Just because it doesn't have it from the factory doesn't mean it can't have it now. My 87 Base has 5-lugs with the vented rotors, TII wheels, and a s4 LSD on it for example. The only way to know for sure is to ask. Pictures also help validate what they say.
