3rdgen engine in 2ndgen????

has anyone put a 3rd gen rx-7 twin turbo engine in a 2nd gen non turbo??? if so what all do you need to convert to do this if you buy a j-spec engine???

you're better off going with a 20b. more power and its about the same price.

i think this topic has been covered... quite a few times. I remember it not being worth it...or not enough engine space. But with enough money anything can be done.

Try searching. I know there should be a few topics on it

on a diff name but how hard woud it be to convert to a non turbo 13b to a turboII engine???

Pretty easy if you have a tii parts car, or a tii front clip.

so what all would i need if i had the compleat long block j-spec engine??? im thinkin ecu is the main mabe guages

ECU, aftermarket gauges, wiring harness, mounts, transmission, rear end. You can half *** the job and use weaker NA components, but then youll be replacing them when they break later. If you have the $$ to replace it all, do it.

you need the turbo II mounts??? the n/a mounts wont bolt up to the turbo II motor???

well i have a gxl model right now which has limited slip im not sure if it has the samn tranny as a turbo 2 though

13B-REW in GXL

I have a twin turbo in my GXL. It takes a lot of wiring, re-doing the motor mounts, oil pan, custom piping, complete TII drvetrain from the Tranny back, intercooler, exhaust work to get the downpipe to fit in right. Other stuff to I'm forgetting I'm sure. Misc. details. A lot of time and effort. PM me if you want to know any more details.

I think they are. However I would be using mazda competition mounts or whatever instead of the stockers.
