3000rpm fast idle and radiator thermoswitch !???
OK, now I read that to eliminate the 17 sec fast idle when the car is started stone cold, all you need to do is unplug the thermoswitch at the bottom of the radiator. Now, this doesn't make any sense ! If the car is stone cold, the thermoswitch will be 'open' and only closes at around 15 degrees. So if you just disconnected it, the ECU would still see the thermoswitch as being open and would STILL do the fast idle wouldn't it ???
Wouldn't you have to short the two leads together to trick the ECU into thinking the thermoswitch was actually closed instead ???
