3000 GT SL kept up w/ me
dang im pissed i just raced a auto 94 3000 GT SL and while I pulled on him 1st and 2nd gear in 3rd gear he came back and we were side by side till 100mph. Shouldn't I be faster?
I got an 89 GXL w/ RB catback, bonez pipe and air filter. ;(

Why would an N/A rx7 be faster then a 3000 gt?
These are all speculations but I think a 3000gt has a v6 with 250+ hp (non-turbo ones) and a n/a rx7 fully modded might be close to 200 but I doubt it. Anyway I would congratulate you if you kept up with him

It surprises me quite a bit. My girlfriend used to race a friend of hers Stealth (same trim level, w/ the 220hp engine) in her 96' Grand Am, and would absolutly RAPE that car. Off the line, from a punch, ANYTHING; the stealth was toast.
It's somewhat sad if any 2nd gen RX-7 couldn't beat one, nevertheless a modified one.

makes perfect sense...you screw him in the lower gears and he catches as you both gain momentum. he has a big torque advantage and once you guys have all that momentum his porky weight becomes less and less important. get yourself an aluminum flywheel and i gurantee he's in your rear view the entire time!!
