As long as you build up the car the right way you should be fine. Don't just slap performance mods on there and expect the car to handle the extra load no problem. Be sure to do a full tuneup on the car first, get a blown motor with good components if you can then port it when you rebuild it and do the cooling system the right way.
Aside from that get a standalone ECU and make sure its tuned right. Stay on top of the tuning and normal maintenance and you should be alright.
Don't be one of those guys that builds a 400hp car and doesn't retune when the seasons change. It's not hard to tune lean and blow the motor.

As for specifics I'd head to Ted's website www.fc3spro.com and poke around in the modifications section. Things don't have to be done in that order, but its a good place for rx7 specific info.

That's gonna be a lot of money you're going to need for all that.

get a haltech or microtech, not an emanage. there will be much more support from other FC owners and from what I've heard theyre both easier to tune than an emanage.

mite be easier to tune but they are like double or more the price of the emanage. i think for 300hp the emanage should be sufficient?

i am going for the 400 hp (i may up that to 550 with nitrous)
you can build a nice motor for about 3000 with new housings hardened gears and w 3 mill seals
get a bnr stage 4 for 800
and a haltec for a 1000
injectors rc ingeneering 1600 cc 400
or som eebay knock offs for 200
and a walbro fuel pump 100
and a fmic for about a grand or a custom for 300 or so

properly built 6 grand and you will be smoking vetts

man i'm workin on my 88 t2 w/ a 13b re i had it on the road and it did great but i put her down to tweek everything, oh yeah she should be puttin down roughly 350 hp . but my advice is dont sleep on the small stuff ( new hoses, belts, thermostat ect...)cause in my experience 9 times out of ten thats what will cost u a motor.

Yea, I plan to keep my FB TII project around 7k and push 35-400 easy. I cant wait for it to take off!.....first however I have to recover from buying my sister her 87 TII, giving it a full tuneup, and giving it a few mods ....when will my time ever come!?!? LoL.

Mine dynoed in at 410rwhp and 303rwtq at 15psi but varied on other dyno's different day.

Its not to hard to build a 400rwhp car. Problem is going above 400?
This was on a haltech e6k t04b 60-1 turbo etc etc. All it takes is money.

Go with a good fuel computer. You will be wasteing your time and money (Blown motors) if you do not address the build properly.

These motors pop on a dime with a wrong tune or build up!!!

Im running right about 300 hps. its not a bad car to drive daily. in fact it made driving to work fun . except in the gas dept. I was filling up every 3-4 days and running 93 oct starts to add up. thats why i reverted back to my 4 cylinder truck. better gas mileage. I do drive about 30 miles round trip to work. so after about 3-4 day i would have to fill up. dont get me wrong. i love the power and the feel of driving it .. but i mainly use the car as a weekend cruiser/ track car. the reliablilty factor is fine. although i did have a oil pressure problem as my oil pressure control valve backed out . but thats not the car fault. it wasnt sealed with locktite. but if you take your time and build it up right you should be fine. as for 400 plus hps?? you guys pushing that mark deserve props. hehe i have about 300 and thats more than enough for me.. i actually turned my boost down. maybe once i get some more susupension upgrades ill be ready for 400 , but right now im very content with 300

If you are not dead set on keeping the stock motor a Ls1 swap will get you the power you want with almost no mods. I know most don't welcome this swap but it is an option. I don't want to start a pissing match I love both motors but before I lay down my cash I would look at all the options. I completed my ls1 swap for aroud 6k and it makes about 320whp on the motor and just over 400whp on nitrous and gets 25-29mpg with a/c and a smooth idle.

"forget about 18" wheels, go 17's." -KARACK.... I agree! plus 17 's will allow you to run some nice rubber and the fittment looks real good. I wish I had a camera or I would show . As for 18's I would say "no" as well.Good luck!-Erik

I got all my swap parts from hinsonsupercars.com. This includes motor and trans mount complete cooling system ( fan radiator upper/lower hoses and all clamps) fuel system and all my wiring. Check out the site and pm me with any questions. I can send some pics if you like.
