sorry, 2 more, where the crap is my coolant going? Not in the engine, not through the water pump...just can't figure.

Lastly, what temp thermostat is supposed to be in this beast? I have an FC, 86 RX, NA.

1. Search for your username in the Member section and then click on "Find all posts started by this member".
2. There is a specific detailed procedure for doing that in the factory service manual. Get the manual from one of the links in the FAQ.
3. What is the hose attached to? Sounds like the coolant overflow bottle is spewing out coolant.

Sorry #2. In this car, always use an OEM thermostat, whatever the temp rating is. Get one from Mazda.

 

temp is 180 F

where is your coolant going:
when you start the car up cold does water PUKE into the overflow bottle?
is there puddles of coolant under the vehicle?
how much coolant will it lose in a day of sitting?a day of driving?
