3 nipples on the back of S5 TB/Manifold???
Ok... all done with removing the vacuum crap. Looks much better... hopefully will run a lot better.
A question.
The 3 nipples on the back of the intake manifold, right where the TB meets the manifold..... arranged in an upright line (one on top of the other).
What are they for?? I know they are "pre-throttle plate" ports.. but they seem to go to different parts.
I know one is for the oil nozzles, one for the injector air bleeds, and one goes to the purge system I think??
Which is which?? I only have two vacuum lines left- the oil nozzles and the air bleeds, and I need ot know which ones go where.
I think the top one is for the air bleeds.. judging by the FSM vac diagram, but I can't tell about the others- since the purge system is gone, and it doesn't show the oil injectors on there.
Thanks!!!
Dan

Theer is no subzero assist.
This is an S5- it has a different vacuum system than an S4.
I just need to know which of the three nipples to hook the injector bleeds, oil injectors, and which to block off.

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
Right, there are only 2 kinds of nipples; pre-throttle adn post-throttle(manifold vacuum) air supply. The air bleeds and oil injectors should both get pre-throttle.

Yep, totally agree, it's just that the three nipples seem to go to different points inside the TB, even the FSM shows it- just didn't know if they were areas of different vacuum, that's what the whole concern is.

Since I don't have an S5 TB sitting around, I cant tell you which nipples go to pre throttle plates and which ones go to post throttle plates.
I do have an S4 sitting around here somewhere, so if that would help, I could check it out and let you know.
You could also check out iluvmyrx7.com and look at the factory service manual. They have a decently detailed vacuum hose routing diagram, and you can find where the factory air bleeds and oil injector lines connect. Kevin already stated that the air bleeds and oil injector lines run on vacuum pre-throttle, so find out which nipples are for them and use them in your setup.
