2gen with 13BTT engine

i was wondering if anyone has ever swapped a 3gen 13BTT engine into a 2gen rx7 befor,if not is the engine the same as the 13B?Is this a gpood idea and will it bolt right up,i would think that it would because of the fact that it is a 13B,or did Masda change the design of the engine from 2nd generation to the 3rd generation????? thanx Josh

Easier way to do things....

Find a TII oil pan, use it as a template to drill and tap the center iron to use the stock 2nd Gen mounts. Pull off the stock Twins and vacuum hell, slap on a single turbo and manifold, find a Microtech or a Haltech and use that for EMS. Enjoy you're 3rd gen motor.

Since your post count is low, I'm assuming you're new here.

Start with the FAQ stickies at the top of all the thread lists in here.
If you had started here, you would've found links that would've answered all your messages from the beginning.

Read more; post less.

Learn how to do proper searches.
Try keywork "Cosmo" in this subsection, and your questions about the Cosmo 13B-RE should all be answered.

the 13B-RE swap is much simpler than the 13B-REW, you should have said you were using a cosmo engine and not a 3rd gen rx-7 engine. the two are totaly diffrent.

I an sorry and I give my apologies, but yes it is a cosmo engine and I did not know that ther is that much difference between the 13btt! So the cosmo engine would be a pretty easy or fairly easy swap? Has any one ever done this swap and if so I would like so tipaS tricks that would make my swap a lil easier, if not I'm up for the challenge!!!yes I am new to this site and as well to the whole rotary engine world but from what I have read and herd,it seems quite dumb to not choose a rotary!!

The 13b-re (cosmo engine) swap is fairly straightforward, but far from cheap. Here is a link on how to do it form ted's site: http://fc3spro.com/TECH/SWAP/COSMO/13b-re.html
Also, neither of the links work for the mounts, but I you can get them at http://www.banzairacing.net/2nd_gen_engine_brackets.htm
