17x8" all around. The offset would be all around as well. The wheels would be 5zigen FN01-RC.

+35.

I had +30 17x8 mustang wheels they are much closer to rubbing on the fender than inside, the front occasionally rubbed fender, going with less pos offset would make rubbing worste

I now have 17x7.5 +33 in the front and 17X8 +35 in the back, no problem rubbing, with 225/255

I'm currently running Enkei rpf1's on my TII, 17x8 front, 17x9 rear, +35 offset all around, no rubbing, tires are Azenis, 225/255 I think. Stock suspension save for Racing Beat Sway bars. They fit flush front and back.

Yeah, that would be a good setup if you wanna rotate. I was thinking about running those a while back.

I run different tires on the front than I do the back, so even if my rims were the same size rotating would do me no good

Pix?

And sicc is running 17x9 and 17x10s with +15 at the lowest. :/
I'll probably run the same tires all around. Because I'm going to be doing some drifting in my FC

Hm, makes sense. I don't know if I'd use these rims for drifting tho, maybe some FD rims or something.

There is no one answer to what's better. 25 will put it very close to the fender, where rubbing problems can be fixed with rolling fenders. 35 will put it very close to the suspension, where rubbing problems can be fixed with spacers. If you've got or want to get Tein or Tanabe lowering springs then get the 25's, as they'll almost certainly rub with the 35's.

I'd go for the 35's, because it gives you more flexibility. You can always space the 35's out varying amounts to get it just right, whereas with the 25's you're pretty much stuck with what you've got.

Yeah, I'm considering either getting springs or saving up and getting coilovers.

I see you have an '88 GTU. Assuming you're still on the stock suspension, I'll share my experience on this. I had a set of 16x8" Kosei rims at +38 offset with a 225 tire all around on my old '90 GTU with no rubbing issues at all. When I switched these same rims and tires onto my '88 GTU, the springs cut a groove into the inner sidewall of both front tires. Moral of the story is that I suspect the "hard" suspension of the S4 GTU uses larger diameter springs than the base suspension of the S5 GTU so you'll need extra clearance up front. The difference between +35 and +38 would probably not have been enough in my case, but then with a 17" wheel and lower profile tire, YMMV.

I will also say that at +38 with a 225 tire, the fronts wheels were exactly flush with the edge of the fender and looked perfect. Another 12 mm out (i.e., +25) would have meant those front tires would be out beyond the fenderline.

Here's some old pictures of those wheels on the S5 GTU if you're curious:

+25, you may have to roll the fenders some if the car is lowered.
