20B turbo in a TII body?

I have an 88 TII that I am pulling the engine on so that I can port it, but is saw a 20B turbo on Cork Sport. I was wanted to know how well/easily it would line up with the TII body, is there even room for it in there? Would the transmission match up? anyone know how reliable a 20B turbo is compared to a 13B turbo?

Thanks,
Kris

Prepare to spend an ungodly amount of money, and/or alot of time working on it.

Hehehe, I'm up to 3 1/2 years and about $30,000 USD so far, and it's nearly ready to run! Actually, you could do it in a couple of months and for around $10,000 USD for a very basic engine swap if you are a mechanic with an auto shop and machine shop.

Yes, there is room for the 20B engine in the 2Gen bay, but you need to modify the thermostat housing and gut the hood scoop to fit it in. Also, the front swaybar or oil pan needs to be modified, and you need custom engine mounts which are now available from K2RD. Here's a pic from my car from about 6 months ago which shows how the 20B fits in the engine bay.

Yes, the transmission bolts right up, but the 20B only came in AT cars, so you need to replace the flex plate with a flywheel and counterbalance, and you need to make a spacer to mount the starter.

The 20B is very similar to the 13B-REW, so I would imagine that the reliability would also be similar.
