205-55-16 wheels too big for a 1.5 drop?

well here is my perdicament i have toyo proxes ra-1 205-55-16 with stock shocks and brand new tein lowering springs (1.5in) now when i turn the wheels and feel behind my wheels it feels like they are real close to the spring but i since there are no black marks from the tire hitting them i think they are fine. but when i got done running them and i put my yokohama yk 420's (205-50-15) back on i noticed on my pass front front spring there are 3 tiny gashes about as thick as a dime where it looked like the rim hit it but the gashes are spread out 1/4 inch from each other. but here is the kicker i did the work my self and i am starting to lean towards the spring compressers did this because if the wheels did this then i would have felt vibration. what do you think? but to make a long story short could my rims do this or is it from the spring compressors

i wish i had pics ill try to post some soon.

What kinda wheels?
Are they stock Turbo II rims?
If so, the should clear no problem.
Are the rims aftermarket?
What's the width and offset?

well the rims are 16in. BBS but im not sure exactly how wide they are. all i know is the tire sticks out about 1/4 farther than the rims and there is no offset or else my tire would hit my fender

not at all....

you will still have 3/4 inch gap between the wheel well and the tires....

thats what i run on my car, 1.5inch drop with 225/55/R16 yokohama's....

only thing you might have to worry about is, like stated above, offset....

You need to figure out how wide the rim is and what the offset is.
Without those specs, we cannot help you out over this online forum.
If all else fails, take the wheel off the car and look for raised or stamped letters and numbers inside the wheel.
Report those numbers back to us.
We really can't help you without the width and offset.

And, no, there is no such thing as "no offset".
Even if you mean "zero" offset, those rims will never fit with a +0.

Would a 42mm offset be ok for a 1" drop? Just trying to see how this works.
