Out of curiosity, is a FC with the rear seats able to fit a child seat and/or small child? I know there are some family types here, and I haven't actually seen a '7 with the rear seats. They're small, but would it be usable for at least a few years?

I believe the back seat is only good for small children/car seat.

Well, yea, there's the whole "You smell like car again..." thing. But it would work for getting people around.

it should fit a car seat, but im not sure. I seem to remember the seat being tilted back a lot. As for a kid, it should work until they get to be 7 or 8. My dad had an Austin-Healy 3000 2+2 and thats about the time I could no longer fit in the back and I think they have similar rear leg room. If you only have one kid, they can sit sideways in the back. Thats what I did in my friends 911.

I've let a friend's 7 year old ride in the back seat. That's about it's max. He complained about how small the seat was.
Nowadays, my dog (siberian husky) rides there and she never complains.

No room for a car seat in back. Enuff room for ppl under 5'4" especially behind the pasengers seat.

I think kids are pretty safe in the back seat, it sinks down and they have the headrest blocking them in. My kids think its cool to ride back there. Very convienent.

Oh yeah, I guess you can move the passenger seat up if you need too. The seats were bolted to the floor in the Healy, so it wasnt really an option.

I think a child would be ok but any pre teenn or older would have to sit sideways. i think a child car seat would be good though since the seat sinks in.

I can definitively say no, a child seat will not fit in the rear seats.

My parents (I'm 19 years old) bought my 87 GXL 2+2 back in 1986. They were told by the salesman that a back seat would in fact fit in the back. However when I popped out 2 years later, to their surprise, my seat wouldn't fit in the back. My mom had to sit in the back while I sat in the front seat. But look on the bright side, at least theres no airbag!

But once I was out of the child seat, I sat back there all the way through junior high. Its not the most comfortable, but its definitely do-able.

I have a rollbar in mine and was talking with a friend of mine about how I could just put a rear-facing baby seat in the hatchback and strap it to the rollbar. She said she'd call CPS on me. Good thing I don't have kids.

alright.... so i just graduated high school... and some of my friends can't drive. so when we have to go somewhere.... we have four guys in the car....

My father had a FB with back seats, and got rid of it once he had me and my sister. He said it's just so small, it's so impractical. I mean, do what you got to do, but if you can afford a sedan, go for it. make your 7 your weekend warrior.

I can give you a ride in the backseat of my car.... you probably won't like it. My little sister fits fine though. so yes, it could work for a few years.

Sounds like something I would say having a roll bar as well

The back seat will fit a child seat, You have to make sure you lock the belts with clips or something. You'll have to keep the passenger seat either all the way forward, or just lean it up, otherwise any kid over 1 or so will have crunched feet.

I've found that since the passenger seat sits so far back in the car, it makes a safer place for the car seat. You don't have to worry about the instability of perching the car seat on the lips of the deep bucket in the back seat.
