it is kinda difficult to make it look good if you are just going to use a spray baum (spray can)
go to advanced and buy a professional style top feed sprayer. go to an automotive paint store and get the paint you need. sand down the car and do any dent repair you can and then prime the vehicle with a good quality primer. then just spray away.
its really not as simple as i just explaind, there are a few steps i left out cause i dont wanna write a book. go to a barns and noble and check out some literature on painting automobiles.
i have seen a flat/ satin black finish on a fc and it looks cool with the rite wheel combo.
id like to see one in hot rod style, flat black with the really cool hand painted red and white pinstripes, and some red steel wheels with chrome centercaps and fat *** whitewalls.
do what ya wanna do man, post pics, im sure it will look awsome!
good luck

I could have done my car in flat black blackhawk paint for free, problem is it just looks like crap and is hard to keep clean. If your only doing it to be different then do it, it would make the prep work a lil easier too but be prepared for your car to look like ***

Gah! It may just be me but I think the paint on the FCs in this thread look ugly. The one halfway decent looking one looks exactly like a car with good primer. 'Course, I have seen a lot worse. It depends how your car looks currently. Why not post a pic of what you have so you can get better tips. If your paint is a little faded in some areas, I'd say no. If it looks like my first FC... hmm, the (original factory, faded) paint was pretty horrific on that car but I'm still not sure.
If it were me I'd leave it alone, whatever you have. Primer any bare metal to stop rust. A good paint job is too expensive, or else too expensive and time consuming if you do it yourself. OTOH, it's easier once you have experience and the right equipment. I went down that road before and I can say paint and body work costs too much money and time to be worth it. I'm gonna upgrade my car before I get around to fixing my scratches and dings and what not. For now, once I have time, I have everything to clay bar and wax it to keep the existing paint protected.
