1st time motor pull update!!need more help!!

1st of all i would like to say thanks to everyone who gave me tips and pointers as this was my 1st time pulling a motor(not just a rotary but a motor period). It took a while since i am really busy between school and everything else going on but for only being 16 i feel pretty good especially since i did it all by myself.

Now for my question:
Now that i have the motor out i need to know what direction to go. my car was a n/a automatic.

I figured i had 3 options and was hoping you guys can point me in the best direction.

1)try and find another n/a motor to drop in but where do i find this?
2)go with a turbo motor swap. but once again where should i get it and what do i need to convert to a turbo and what issues will i run into.
3)Get my motor rebuilt. once again where to do it?

Another question i had:are the automatic and 5spd motors interchangable?

thanks guys
my car again: 1986 rx7 non-turbo automatic

hey nice job.....i would in my opinion depending on the money situation probably do a turbo swap.......but your looking about spending 1500 :/ if the motor is usuable i would rebuild it myself (thats what i was gonna do with mine but a blown rotor and housing changed my mind)

if you want to go from auto to 5spd you need to change the flywheel because of counter weights...you can find more info on the forums

but the motors are interchangeable

Yup... auto and turbo engines are interchangable.

If i was you i would buy an s4t2 engine from JAPAN2LA and source an auto t2 trans..... that would be an interesting swap since the car is already automatic.

Good luck with the build.

k thanks guys. Money isnt a huge issue but i want to save as much money as possible. im thinking turbo swap sticking with automatic. it would be pretty interesting to see a 2plus2 automatic rx7 wouldnt it? i know ive never seen one.

That being said where should i head to for getting the motor? should i also change tranny? what else do i need to go from n/a to turbo? will my exhaust work? thanks guys sorry bout all the questions but im a newb ha ha ill also search existing forums.

I've heard alot of good about 'Japan2LA' on this forum.

TII ECU, trans and associated hardware (not sure what you'd need if you want to stay auto), TII boost sensor and I think there's a couple other things that I'm forgetting at the moment. Your exhaust will work from the cat back, but you'll need a down pipe, whether it be stock or aftermarket. The stock n/a exhaust might also be too small in diameter for the TII, something to think about.
