1991 NA EFI to Carb

Here is a set up on a buddies car.

This is what we have done:

Took Walboro 255 out of the tank, and ran the hose inside the tank with the fuel sock. Just outside the tank is a low pressure high volume pump, set at 3.5 PSI. Had a regulator on it, but he bought the el cheapo and it crapped out on him.

Removed the upper manifold and everything from UIM to the Cone filter. Tied all the wires back and taped them (pictures are before we did that). Carb is a Weber 48DCOE but is currently jetted for a bridgeport (building that in the shack).

Stock ignition but will drop in my 12a Dizzy and run the stock FC leading coil from the ignitors and will run the trailing through the leading in the dizzy cap.

Only problem thus far is of course, the tuning, but also the Electric OMP was on full blast. We will pull that off and tie it back and fab up a block off plate.

Why did he go with the carb setup? I have the exact same setup as my friend's car but he has what is almost identical to that and I have the stock efi manifold. He'll beat me off the line but I'll destroy him up top.

He will be going bridgeport and doesn't have a standalone at this time.

This setup have revved to 10,500 on "accident".

OK it's purpose built. Got it. That could work.

I wouldn't use a stock manifold with a bridgeport either.

Not I, he is. This is temporary for the bridge build. This will be the break in set up, then he will be going back to FI with a stand alone. I might keep the thread updated. Currently I will be doing a 13B-REW in a first gen, and another friend wants a SP 13b in his vert.

Hopefully a Gt4088 or Gt42. RX7store says they always have some in stock.

Even though its not for a Holley, he should really get one of the Holley pumps and put it on there with a regulator. Kinda pricey but fuel delivery is kinda important...
