1990 Vert's Camber is off on the rear.
1990 Vert's Camber is off on the rear.
Ok so recently on my 1990 vert i've noticed that the rear tires are somewhat slanted inward at the top of the tire. What would cause the camber of the rear of the car to lean out at the bottom and in at the top? on the drivers side of my car it's visabily noticable and on the other side it is as well but not quite so much.
The only thing i've done on the rear end of the car would have been dropping the subframe to work on the Diff. but when i secured the subframe back on i know it got put back on the exact way it came off.
Any ideas, tips or suggestions would be great, i'm getting a little concerned about this and have no idea how i could correct this problem.
Help is appriciated very much,
Matt

Is your main sublink reinstalled?
If it is installed and in decent shape, is your car lowered?
If it is lowered, you may need an adjustable sublink to dial out the unwanted negative camber to get back to stock specs and avoid any excessive tire wear.
If it was installed exactly how it was before you you took it out, then it goes to reason that it should look/function exactly the same too.
Perhaps you overlooked something.
It could also be just old-*** worn-out droopy suspension. The car will gain camber when that happens and it won't necassarily be the same on both sides.

So do you suggest i get new shocks and springs?
everything is stock and reinstalled the way it was taken off and everything is still bone stock adn to my knowledge everything is original.

There is no factory adjustment cor rear camber. If its off that bad, you should get adjustable strut mounts.Racing beat has a camber adjuster, but it dont work, I have one.Springs and shocks might improve it a little.

The "adjustable strutmounts," i.e. adjustable camber plates are for the front only. To adjust the rear, you need the adjustable sublink from Racing Beat, Mazdatrix or one of several other shops that supply/make them. They do work.
Springs and shocks would do it. However, while your at it, spring for a eurathane bushing kit and dtts elimintaor bushing to do it proper.

Check Mazdatrix website for the on the car adjustable camber links. Really great pieces and work well. Each whell is able to be adjusted individually:
Adjustable (ON the car) Rear Camber Links -- really trick pieces - Allows adjusting camber on EACH rear wheel.
These will take out about as much of the negative camber in the rear wheels as is "mechanically" possible. The only way to get more of it out requires a lot of cutting, grinding, and welding.
