1990 TII how much

i am try to buy a 1990 TII from a guy who kinda wants to keep it, but kinda whants to get rid of it. and im trying to figure out how much to offer him because if i dont offer enough he could say no and keep the car for good. or i could offer to much and over pay. here is what is done to the car:
-1991 Japan direct Motor installed January 2000
-1991 Japan direct transmission installed January 2001
-lightweight steel flywheel (2001)
-Mazdaspeed street/strip pressure plate (2002)
-Mazdatrix/ferado street/strip clutch (2002)
-New clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder, stainless steel braided hose (2002)
-2 ½ inch diameter down pipe and exhaust, new mufflers (2001)
-Bonez high flow catalytic converter (2001)
-Front and rear strut/shock tower braces (2001)
-Engine torque brace (2001)
-Cold air intake with insulated air tract and air box (2002)
-Turbo and downpipe heat shield wrapped (all water/oil lines near turbo also insulated)
-Silicone vacuum lines (all vacuum and fuel lines replaced at engine change)
-Fuel cut out eliminator box (2000)
-Blitz electronic boost controller (2001)
-Apexi fuel computer (2002)
-Greddy turbo timer (1999)
-Factory front spoiler
-Boost gauge, Air/Fuel ratio gauge (AutoMeter) digital fuel pressure gauge (Nordstrog)
-Metallic brake pads
-RC engineering balanced and cleaned injectors with all new seals(2001
-Walbro-BBK 228 LPH Fuel pump (2001)
-Accel plug wires (2002)
-MSD 6A ignition (2002)
-KYB struts/shocks with new bump stops and boots (2003)
-Intrax lowering springs and camber kit (2003)
-Suspension Techniques front and rear sway bars (thicker than stock) and poly bushings (2003)
-Polyurethane front and rear control arm bushings (2003)
-Short throw shifter (2002)
-Turn signal and FTP lens smoked covers –detachable
-Turbo cooling air duct
-Stainless steel braided, DOT approved brake hoses (2003)
-resprayed in the mid-late 90's
I was thinking of offering him around 6500- 7000 does this sound right???
the car does have over 200k on body and probly around 40-45k on the motor and transmission

That is way to much on the body I would think hard about even buying it.

Just thought I'd reply...It sounds as if there is no work needed on the car. If that is the case, and the body, tires, and interior are in great shape I'd say the $6500 is a good ballpark price.
Just remember that the J-Spec engine installed in 2000 was an used engine, so mileage is questionable. Of course every engine that comes from Japan is advertised with 30/35,000 miles and in excellent condition!!

The newest FC is 13 years old. Good luck finding anything under 100k miles.

For an 89-91 turbo car, anything between $4000-8000 is normal, depending on condition, mods, etc. I think I'd get it down to around 5 or 5500, with those chassis miles though.

Let us know if you get it! Sounds like a very nicely done car. To me it would be worth upwards of what you suggested, 6000 or 6500. Just beware. If he really doesn't want to get rid of the car, no offer would be enough. Try not to get your hopes up!
