i read some where that there are 4 different power outputs. one for 6 speed manual, one for 5 speed manual, and then two for automatics the plain and the paddle shift, I'm guessing that's just in the tuning that they get different #s at crank? MORE IMPORTANTLY WHENS THE NEXT UPDATE

after all this time, finally did something...

oil pan is finished, kinda. just need to clean up the edges where i cut the baffle. i used a plasma cutter. wich makes crappy cuts with aluminium. also need to put a drain plug. and polish it up a little. heres a few pics...

also, this isnt my best work. i was awake for 32 hours when i began working on this pan. and it took me about 2 hours from start to finish. i should have caught some sleep first and then worked on it. but i knew if i dindt start on it right then. it wouldnt of happended...

I can't even stay awake for 16 hours... Nice work. I thought you were going to takemake one oil pan out of two? Making it from scratch with aluminum is way cooler though.

I'm in the process of coming up with a 6 port renesis for my FC and will start on the install as soon as I get it.

yeah, i was just going to take two 12a oil pans and make them into one extended pan. but this is much cooler. plus its deeper with a baffle built in. and acts as a brace since its thicker. just all around better. oh, and the aluminum disapates the heat better so the oil will be a little cooler while sitting in there...

The ports determine the output. And as far as I can tell, the the automatics were onle mated with 4 ports and you could get a manual with either but the 6 was only available with the 6 speed. I believe there are only 2 different power outputs. However, I could be very wrong...

It really depends on what you can get the engine for and how much of the swap and fab work you can complete yourself. If you look on Ebay at the enines, they range from $1300 - $3000 or so. You fab the motor mounts and oil pan yourself and can swap front covers, figure out your intake setup and so on you can get this done for what a good rebuild would cost or less.

The 4 port/192 hp Reni was only paired with the slushbox in the N. American market, although it was available with a 5 spd elsewhere. All NA market manuals came with the 6spd/6port, 232 HP Renesis.

Thanks for verifying that. I really didn't know if that was accurate but i've just been looking for one that was paired with 6spd.

The guy no longer has a car to put the Renesis in. If anybody has a 2nd gen in Orlando FL area please let me know soon for I'm willing to buy it as a donor car and help fund the project. Buying the car and engine afterwords ofcourse.

^ i have a car. 2nd gens actually at the moment. One i turned into my drag car. And one is swapped to RHD and Turbo II daily.

Im still debating on porting styles and other things for the Renesis. I just havnt been motivated on finishing that much lately. The other cars have been taking my time and money.

I think most poeple just want to see a stock Renesis swapped out especially for the sake of finishing it. We have all seen drag Renesis's and they aren't that impressive.

All projects seem to get sold anyways. Build me a stock one and I will pay $$$

where have you seen a drag renesis? theres a few street car renesis making power. but not much else...

stock is boring... fabricating parts is more interesting to me. thats why im choosing this route.

yes. maybe more...

and i have seen big bridges and PP's with only 220-230. of coure there are PP's with 300+, but thats full race C16 or methenol motors. I wonder what the renesis might make with some C16...?
