1. RX7's don't have timing belts (they probably fixed the oil pump chain)
2. it's warming up. so the accelerated warmup procedure is what you're seeing.

When you put it into gear it stops the bouncing warm up ( can you imagine that happening when you're trying to take off with a cold car??).

if you were to turn the car on in neutral (without giving it gas or putting it in gear) you would see the 3k RPM startup for ~5seconds. Then it drops, like in the video, to around 2000RPMS. AS the car warms up it gets to 750RPMs and stays there (when tuned properly).

rotaries don't need timing belts, should be something different they fixed.

also check the faqs and archives for great information.
https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-gen-archive-72/faq-idle-problems-334730/ this is one on rough idle if you really think something is wrong, i personally think its warmup time.

come on guys, read! It's not timing belt/chain. It's the oil pump chain.

I went back and was informed that it was the oil pump chain... Going back to the problem, ok now i know about the warmup procedure but once my car is warm and i have been driving it for about 30 min, the idling still goes on. And why does it only do it when my car is in neutral only? is it a major problem?

I did some Research and did the "Tapping into the S5 Diagnostics" procedure.
http://howto.globalvicinity.com/gv_w...i=50&co=1&vi=1 It gave me code 18 Which means that its my throttle sensor. I Do not understand much as how to adjust it since this is my first time doing these troubleshoots. Any pointers? What do i need as far as tools?

Sorry to threadjack, but mine does the same thing, except it only does it sometimes and if I don't let the car completely warm up before driving. It bounces from 1k-1.5k and will stop bouncing if I turn the AC on. Also, sometimes if I use the clutch to drop the revs below 1k it will stop, and if I hit the gas it will start again. When it does happen, it won't idle normally unless I drive it for a while. Could this be the same problem Caifanesrock is having?
