1988 Mazda RX7 Convertible Top Issue

Hi there!! I just brought an '88 Mazda RX 7 Convertible that's in great shape....but with one problem. The plastic **** on the right-hand side of the steering column broke. This **** is used to electrically open the convertible top. Does anyone know a.) where I can get another ****? and b.) how to open the top manually? .......Unfortunately, my car did not come with the manual. I have to wait a few days for one, but I'm just DYING to put the top down!! Can anyone help me

Are the wires exposed? if so, tell me how many wires do you see. if three, you can get a 3-way switch from radioshack and wire it together for a quick fix.

That would be very bad advice.

There is a diagnostic/jumper connector for the top under the hood on the passengers shock tower (near the pressure sensor).

It it you will find a igntion lead and top up and down leads (as well as parking brake).

Jumper the green/white to the black/yellow to close the top. Of course remove the jumper when the top is closed.

And I have **** sets available under my used parts section of my webstore/website

They don't.

The 90-91 US spec have the dreaded explosive device, the air bag, which moves the top control to the center consol.

The 88 and 89 verts (S4 and S5 respectivly) have the top control as part of the wiper switch /hazard switch assembly.
