1988 FC.. Interchangable T2?

Ive got a 1988 I think its a GXL? Its not a turbo two or anything, im lookin into buying a Turbo2 thats in better shape, mine isnt bad but its from NY and rusting is gonna happen soon im sure.. JW If anything is swappable from the 88 GXL to the idk maybe 90 or 91 T2? Suspension or anything, lookin to build a car for my own liking that has some go. But I can take to a show and people look at it. Im thinkin since ive got this one just sitting here without a motor/trans, I might suede the dash for practice. and I wanna polish some pieces just because really. If I take the time to do this I wanna switch them to the new one. So what can I do?

the turbo II parts will swap, i wouldn't worry about sueding dashes and polishing parts just yet, save the money to complete the swap. you will have your hands full anyways

save money?

I doubt there is anything from the S4 GXL that you could put into the S5 TII besides body panels and SOME interior.

hmmmmmm....find a cheap motor, install it, get her running and sell it. There really isn't much you can use from a series four into a series five.

well the side pillars aren't the same (s5's have mouse belts while the S4 has manual) unless you swap out the belts too.

carpet with some modification (IIRC)

seats?

headlights

wipers.

This is covered on an almost daily basis. There is even a complete list of what is/isn't interchangable in one thread. search.

Dude. Clean up your GXL so you can maybe get a better offer for it. Wash it up, detail under the hood, and sell it. Then buy a T2. If you have any valuable parts from your GXL that won't work on a T2 then sell them. But not much is going to work.
