1988 Convertible Switch

When I bought my 88 it didn't/doesn't have the **** that puts the top down or up. Does anyone know where I could buy one or make a good alternative for that switch

Huh? It should be the **** right above the Whiper ****. Behind the plastic all 3 ***** / switches on that side belong to the same switch-module. Did the previous owner replace it with a non-vert module?

OP - A picture of the right side of the instrument cluster would help a lot. It's hilarious that the word "k-n-o-b" is being censored, at least in my phone. As the previous poster said, it should be the top round one on the right side of the instrument cluster, twist back (with the parking brake on) to open, forward to shut. If it isn't there, a pair of momentary rocker switches could be added for open and close functions, you'll just need to dig the correct wires out of the harness.

If it is there but isn't doing anything, then it's time to bust out the continuity tester to check the switch operation as well as the limit switches built into the top motors.

I am missing the same thing!
I'd assume the same nkob (sic) exists on the coupes and just has a different purpose?

yup. it's the rear wiper control on coupes with a rear windshield wiper. I'm guessing the cap is the same between the two. If you have access to a 3D printer I can model that cap up for you.

I do have a 3d printer, that would be awesome! But how will you get the inner part where it mounts on the pin?

well on the coupe version, that pin is part of the ****. Does it pull out of your switch assembly?

Here's the CAD file:

I don't have acess to a 3d printer unlike the other user. I'll test to see if pin pulls out tomorrow.

I have an 88 convertible. The **** is a simple round one. You can see the picture here. If you have problems with it 13B may be able to help you out. My wiper switch (part of the same unit) wasn't working and he fixed the relay for me.

I do have a 3d printer, and a mailbox, something could be arranged if you get 3d files.
