1987 Tii

hello guys, so I've taken some of the advice I've gotten from here and mechanics, and i found an 1987 Tii rx7 that is street ported and has upgraded turbo, blow off valve, fuel injectors, cpu, and intercooler. now the catch is, the car has sat for 2 years (the guy was going to put a v8 in it and sell the motor but never got to it due to debt). I'm going to pour some sea foam cleaner in the gas and some lucas in the oil. now I've been recommended to use a hand pump and put some lucas or oil into some vacuum lines that go to the housings. however he didn't tell me witch ones. does anyone know?

Don't put that **** in the oil and gas. None of that ****.

Drain the fuel tank. Put new gasoline in it. Use a bit of ATF or engine oil in the lower spark plug holes, and then put the spark plugs back in. (This will help with compression while starting.) - Be sure to have a completely good battery and or jumper cables. It'll need all of the power it can get.

You'll probably want to prime the oil and fuel systems too.

The treatment cleaners aren't going to help you if the oil/gas is old. Otherwise there is nothing wrong with them.

Using new oil/gas is the best solution.

If it sat that long without cranking, it would be best to put a little atf or oil down the bottom spark plug holes and rotate the engine by hand. Make sure each of the three sides get a little shot of oil/atf. Turn it a couple times by hand. Prime the fuel and oil systems and give it a go!

You'll probably want to get a new set spark plugs to try to start it if the car has sat that long and you may need a 2nd one after pouring oil/atf fluid in the engine as that can fowl out the plugs.

i bought my 87 turbo II after it sat for 8 years indoors,,, drain the fuel and then use at least 91 octane, i put some atf fluid in each rotor housing cranked it and let it sit for a hour, took a few cranks and started on one rotor, cleaned the plugs and it ran perfect besides a few small fuel leaks from injectors, i would be on the safe side and replace all fluids, coolant,rear diff, trans oil, brake fluid. i did use a small bit of sea foam in the gas once it was running, i have never had any bad experience with it,
hope that helps, good luck!

@clean87

I did most of what you talked about to the first rx7 I bought. Paid $400 for it not running and after about 2 hours of work drove it away. Guy was super pissed and convinced that I'd hustled him.
