1987 NA with multiple problems

Ok here is there jist of it, basically I didnt drive my car for about 2 weeks because of some issues ive been having with it. I get in to start and it starts but dies right away, now I try to start and nothing. I pulled the spark plugs to check for flooding and the plugs are dry as a bone, cleaned them and checked for spark - ok. When I turn on the ignition and then crank, I hear a low faint continuous beep from the PS column. Another problem is my rpm gauge is jumping like crazy, even while cranking. Could it be a possible short in the speedometer cluster or wiring harness? Anyways, the oil and coolant are fine, fuel pump is a turbo fuel pump and I hear it click. Any other suggestions? I tried the EGI fuse trick as well, no results. Thanks guys. I'm not too much of a rotary head but im gettin there

The EGI trick is for flooding, so it wouldn't help if your plugs are dry. Sounds like an electrical issue. It can't be your battery because it cranks, right?

Thats what I was thinking too. I tried the EGI trick before checking the plugs because i thought it was flooded. I do however have a fuel cutoff switch that I'm about to bypass and see if my fuel pump is operating. Hopefully its not the wiring harness, thats a pain to replace. Any other ideas? Oh and when it was running at 3500rpms it loses a significant amount of power. Possibly my 5/6 AUX ports not working? All my grounds seem ok and my battery is showing 12.6volts. Oh and I did check for spark, its ok.

alright! so after a couple of days and working in the rain. I found out that my fuel pump was not getting any power, so I rigged it to get the car home and come to find out my fuel cut off switch is wired to a relay right under my dash. Took the relay out and it fell apart into 5 pieces.. hmm. So i replaced it and walah! So onto the other problems. As for the random rpm jumps I replaced the speedometer and no results. I know for sure the car is not irradically idling from 1k to 5k rpms so any help would be appreciated for this one. The PS control unit went out as well so I replaced that, but now I'm getting the 2 beeps stop and repeat for a set of 3 times - Engine speed signal out? I have no idea where to start with that but could it possibly be part of my idling problem as well? While I was in there I took care of alot of other things such as my AC freon, speedometer cluster with the signals and lights, and a couple of small things here and there. So after taking care of all that I got a flat now and the Oil/Coolant Buzzer sounds 5 seconds after start up and continues for about 30 seconds and stops....? Oil and coolant are fine so I have no idea? oh and no warning lights are lit.

It is most likely that you have air trapped in your coolant system. In order to get it out, you have to back out the bleed screw on the right side of the top of the radiator just forward of where the upper hose joins, then fill at the cap at the *other* end of the hose, near the thermostat, until coolant comes out of the bleed hole at the top of the radiator. Screw that back in, then continue to add coolant unit full, just under the cap. Reinstall the cap and run.

Hmm ok I'll try that and I found out the tachometer problem. The igniter relay next to the top coil pack was starting to fail so I replaced that and the tach is smooth now. After looking under the hood to see If I have any other problems, I found out that the PS Assist oring is leaking and I'm low on PS fluid. On top of that I am missing a hose and vac hose that goes from the bottom left of the engine to the cat for the AUX ports I guess, so I think I found my problem with my lackof power at my higher range of rpms. My lower Oil cooler hose is leaking bad too but I cant find one anywhere! I went to autozone, oreilys, and some other local shops, nothing.. Anyone know where I can get this along with the fuel filter and air filter? Oh and what do I do about the engine speed sensor beeps coming from my PS control unit? I have no idea where to start with that. Thanks again guys
