1987 door ajar switch replacement or Jerry rig

hey all, my 1987 door ajar switch is toast. Is there any replacement for this? Or should I just wrap the wire in electrical tape so it does not get grounded, then the light won’t turn on. Let me know your thoughts.

If you search Amazon for door jamb or pin switches, you'll find several types. Depending on how handy you are you can make any of them work.

I bought some that looked similar but need a larger diameter hole. Just need to enlarge the hole with a unibit. Gonna use a threaded rivet as well to use an actual bolt.
