1986 N/a -> Turbo swap

Hey, im looking into a turbo engine for my 1986 N/a stock 13b. I was told by a friend that I could get a 13b and just directly put it in, by directly i mean take out the old put in the new simple as that pretty much. I have never done anything mechanical really so im gonna buy a turbo engine and put it in with the help of a friend and learn something instead of having a mechanic doing it....I was just wondering is 13b really the only engine that would be direct? If there would be more what of the following engines:

JDM Motors:

B6 Turbo
BP Turbo
K8ZE 1.8L V6
KFZE 2.0L V6
KLZE 2.5L V6

I'm 4 hours out of calgary so I can get one pretty easy. If you dont like JDM motors and have a better idea then drop a link. Thx.

your life will be much easier if you just stay with the a 13b turbo swap as long as it is an 86-88 turbo motor. I don't think it is a direct swap either as you will need to change the drivetrain or use a different driveshaft, and your life will also be easier if you get the turbo ecu. There is alot more info try searching for N/A to turbo swap tons of people have done them.

Your car already has a 13B in it. This has been covered tons of times, I know b/c I though about doing it. You might find this link useful, https://www.rx7club.com/search.php

or maybe this one

https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-gen-archive-72/

possibly something about it in here too,

https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/frequently-asked-questions-2nd-generation-rx-7-faq-fc-494667/

Hopefully that will get you started. I used to hate reading through threads to find information but I found out that it is worth it because you learn a whole lot more than just looking for the key parts. Good luck
