1986 n/a not revving
why is it doing this? - YouTube
After I changed all the belts and the alternator it started to not want to rev. doing what it does in this video. It would also run through the warm up and then the revs would fall till it dies unless i hit the gas a little. after it warmed up though it would idle just fine.
also at around 15 seconds into the video im flooring it.

Have you checked the voltage output of the alternator while the engine is running as it should be at least 14 volts. Your voltage gauge, while might not be accurate, is barely showing 12 volts. And when changing your alternator did you perhaps unplug or snap the plug off of the Water Thermosensor located at the back of the water pump? It's positioned right under the alternator and is somewhat easy to do if you're not being careful. Pin 2I, (Green/White wire) of the ECU should measure 2-3 volts cold engine and .4 volts when fully warmed w/key to on. If it registers 5 volts or 12 volts then you definitely unplugged it or snapped it.

The alternator is giving off 14 volts. and Im getting it go from 1-2 volts from the green/white wire while key is in the on position and the car is not fully warmed. it seems to be running strong now. I'll see if it does this again and check right away.

the problem It was having started up again. After changing the the o rings on the ac system. It had sat while i waited for the o rings to come in. after starting it up it revved similar to the video i linked above then died. It did that a couple times then held a rough idle. I checked both of the things Satch mentioned above still good. What weirded me out was after messing around for a little bit while letting it idle it cleaned up. Stopped doing what it did in the video and idled like a dream. (also I didn't know if i should start a new thread or add to this one.)
