86 TII - Is my engine locked from sitting 2 years?
rx7 has been sitting for 2 1/2 years in a garage. i have the intake manifold off because theres gas leaking some where but, i can't get the motor to even turn over, and the starter is fine. i think its locked maybe.
any help or guide link would be highly appreciated.

Remove all accessory belts, remove the starter, ensure the trans is in neutral, and try to turn the engine clockwise by hand using a 19mm socket and ratchet on the crank pulley. IF it will not turn then it's time to start pulling it out of the car.
I heard of carbon lock on rotaries but never seen a case personally.
Hopefully your engine didnt have bad coolant seals before you decided to set the car down. And if they were bad draining the engine block of all water/coolant SHOULD of been the ideal thing to do instead of leaving the water in there. Leaving it there leaves a chance for the water to stay inside the combustion chamber. Making your intermediate housings and rotors rust. Which = a locked engine
Pull your turbo and check the inside of your rotor housings.

i've unlocked them before but it can be a royal pain in the ***. inject MMO into any open port you can get to(OMP, intake, spark plug holes, exhaust, etc) and let it soak for a few hours then with a long 1/2" breaker bar with another 2-3' cheater on it rock the main shaft forward and back.
eventually it should start to work loose.
i did this procedure on a few engines, one in particular was in my '74 REPU that sat for 24 years, it ran perfectly fine afterwards. another was in a free '88 SE i picked up, got it unlocked and drove it for about 8 months before selling it still running, but it was beginning to smoke at that point.
although in some cases it is a sign that the 3 piece apex seal tip fell out of the rotor due to high mileage and locked up the rotor with graham crackers.
