CA 1986-1991 brake pads oem

are the brake pads on 1986-1991 fc interchangeable? there are a few s4 at my local pick-n-pull that just came into the yard, so i was thinking about picking up some cheap pads for $2 each or just pocket them and walk out haha. i know i'm better off with brand new ones, but i'm on a budget since i have a mini trip to denver for 5 days coming up.

basically i just want to get my brakes working for the mean time. i have an s5 so i would like to know if the s4 brake pads will fit right in.

thanks.

Well, according to Mazdatrix, part numbers for front and rear brake pads are the same P/Ns in that 86-91 group. There are front 4-piston caliper pads that are different from single piston caliper pads. You'll need to know which type you have and what the junkyard car is.

i have a 1990 rx7 gtu. will that be a single or 4 piston or do some 90 gtu have single and some 90 gtu have 4? i don't have a jack with me so i can't lift my car up and take off the wheels right now. i was hoping to go over to my uncle's house and do that, and then go to pick-n-pull.

The 1990 GTU came with single piston front calipers, so unless yours have been swapped, that['s what you've got.
Rear pads are all the same.

I live in Denver, while you're in town I have a '91 that's about to be parted out if you're interested.

Wow.
you just admitted on the Internet that you would steal 2 dollar car parts......
That leads me to believe that YOU are the one that stole my Sister's Virtue!.....Damn you!...now look at her...Ugh...(hahahaha!)
(If you look through the front wheels and see a MAZDA logo, then you have 4 piston calipers on the front.)
