13t swap need help

I have a 86 13b and installed a 89 13t with trans, computer, driveshaft all that stuff. It starts up and runs fine but when you drive it a couple of blocks it starts to bog down and has very little response and we have to limp it home. if you let it set for 15-20 minutes it runs fine again than starts all over again. what am I missing it still has the stock 13b fuel pump.

The electric OMP is bad and causing your Limp mode. Fix it.

Digital Tuning makes a chip that you can install to bypass the electric OMP but then you'd have to pre-mix.....uggggh.

Oil metering pump, located on the turbo side of the engine, below/behind the water pump housing. Bad news is if the pump went it usually fries the board in the ECU also.

So if the OMP is out and the board is fried why does it run ok until it warms up and is their any way around this? Am i hurting the motor by running it?

Because it takes a few minutes for the ECU to respond, then it goes into "limp" mode. The OMP supplies the oil injectors, which provide oil to the cumbstion chambers for lubrication. So if it is not functioning it will harm the engine, this is why the ECU goes into limp.

However since you installed a S5 into and S4, it could be any number of other things sending it into limp mode. Did you use the N370 map sensor? How did you wire the dash harness to the ECU?

I used the 13t map sensor. The harness and computer came with the motor and trans, we hooked up the wires on the third connecter of the computer so we had ignition.

Well there is your problem. The S5 needs a N370, the S4 and S5 are not interchangeable.

So the gut sold me a map sensor that was not for this motor? I have a n326 and a n318, the 326 was on the car with the 13b motor, I ask for a 89 13t map and the guy sent me the n318. not to sound dumb but we are talking about the unit under the air cleaner?

No it the one in front of the right side shock tower. The sensor in line with the air cleaner is your mass air flow sensor.

Dang it beat me to it.

On the pas side shock tower, facing the air box is a little black box with a vacuum hose and a four wire plug that has the numbers n327 but I thought it was the pressure sensor

It is the pressure sensor (ie boost sensor) the FC equivelent of a MAP sensor. N327 is for a S4 N/A you need a S5 TII N370.

It sounds like the series five ECU isn't wired up right to the harness in the car.

What did you do with the other connectors on the ECU?????

I can see why the thing went in a FAIL safe mode and limps around.
