13bre swap?????

Hey wuss up people. I got a red 91 vert. It currently has a turbo II engine on it but I blew after my boost spiked. I pulled the engine out and when I pulled it apart it was no good so I threw it away. I was looking into gettin a 13bre I could get them real cheap with tranny and everything. harness is not a problem since I got the haltech. But let me know what guys think

you need custom motor mounts and will have to do some custom exhuast and intercooler plumbing.

if you got a haltech and know how to use it then it shouldn't be hard one the motor is in.

use the FC tranny. you'll have to figure out which flywheel / clutch / starter to use. probably all FC as well.

No mater how good a deal you get an an RE, do yourself a favor and pop it open and rebuild it. I cannot stress that enough!

Yeah, I agree. Rebuild it but throwing it away? I hope you didn't mean it literally...

Yea Im not dropping the engine in stock.... I was planning to run either a street port or a bp... Im thinking real hard which way I want to go.. The old engine was so fuked up it wasnt worth rebuilding. I had it sitting for a while and water got in the front housing... It was all rusted and everything so I would've needed new rotors housings and plates .. It wouldve came out a fortune. the ic piping are coming out the same since Im running single turbo.. I had the rew intake manifold on my old engine which I sold to some kid.

I just wanted to know. Has anyone done this swap before??? if so what kind of results.. The closest thing I've gotten to swapping another engine was an rew swap done to a datsun... I used to work at an rx7 swapp but got in some heat witht he owner.. so you are saying to use my old tranny???

well you must have gone through this ordeal once before on account as you have a TII motor in a vert. Besides the motor mounts, the swap isnt all that different from the one you've allready done.
