13b turbo to N/a
ok i posted a while back saying about my 87 turbo 2 engine going carbureted , well im about ready to take it to the shop , an ive been reading on the forum about guys swapping out rotors from different year rx7's for higher compression , Ok what if i decided to keep the stock 13b turbo rotors an go carbureted , What is the outcome of that?? am i going to have some low compression leading to Less Hp , or should i Swap out and get different Rotors to run better N/A and make use of the N/a better apposed to using the stock turbo rotors with no turbo????????????............

Due to the lower compression of the turbo engine, you can expect it to be down around 20% from the NA engine. So if you are going to do this, you will want to install NA rotors (preferably S5). You're going to lose power with that carb conversion either way, so why you are doing this I really don't know...

wellllllllllllllll..............to tell you the truth i bought my 87' turbo less , and interiorless , so i went out and bought a 13b turbo engine/tranny , ok i took care of one problem , BUT then i needed a wiring harness , and by the end of my "get the car running Parts list" it tallied up to too much CAsh , im only 18 , and just started college so i dont work enough hours ,...............soooooo I figured Heck ill buy a carb and go carb for a while till i generate enough cash , SO i bought the RB Manifold and holley for less than $300 (from a local shop) ....... and in the mean time that would enable me an my dad to Touch up the body/paint , etc . We also live in an association (meaning Neighbors see signs of Auto work they could complain and then bye bye car) so i needed a quick an easy fix fast , LOL!!! thats the story ,

but wait i hear alot from rx7 guys sayin that i am goin to lose Hp with carb but then again there are guys with carbs around here (orlando,FL) that buy T2s get rid of turbo and go carb and run some satisfying Numbers at the track , (without periphrial port ) just either bridge or street porting

I am not a carb guy. All things being equal, a proper fuel injection system will always make more power then a carburetor. That said, I personally know a few who have run various blow-through turbo setups with good results. But they pulled their hair out trying to tune the damn things. And both have since went to EFI.
