Exclamation 13B-T Forum Section

I know it had been mentioned in the past but trying to bring it to attention.
There is an increasing number of 6 port turbo cars out there and a lot of information that is hardly documented aside from Aaron Cakes website.

No need to get into much more detail just if you think you would navigate an N/A-T section of the forum poll yes.

I personally feel the added section will increase awareness of 6 port builds.

Post your opinion, on the subject.

I would definately be interested in this topic. I may go this route depending on the condition of my poopression 4 port.

I think that not many mess with the idea of a 6port turbo because it is intimidating not having concrete information in one reference area.

Aaroncakes website is very thorough and in depth, but a huge project for the non metalfabbers. As far as the front cover situation and oil and coolant routing it is very helpful, if i remember correctly... that intake manifold scares the **** out of me though...

Yes there is information using bolt on mazda parts on this site... the search button is helpful, i just think it would be more helpful having this info in one area.

So i am a definate +1 regarding killalot13601's idea.

Where in NY?

I don't think an entire forum section would be necessary, but I wouldn't mind seeing a sticky at the top of the 2nd gen tech section, chock full o' links to writeups and info. The title should be in bold capitalized letters, and read "CAN I TURBO MY N/A ENGINE?", since there's a thread with that title every 5 seconds. Maybe it would catch some noob's eyes and make the world just a little better at that moment.

I think it would end up being too specialized of a section, and not enough people would look at it on a regular basis. All the 6 port turbo threads would be kicked over there by the mods but few people would look at them and there would be some frustration.

Agree... But one positive would be it would help keep things organized. But like arghx says, people will not pay attention to it since it requires sifting through different sub-forums...

this definitely interests me! i haven't started a thread with my questions because i know that the info is already here, i'm just having trouble finding it. search works, but not great, as is typical of most forums. i would love a thread at least with all of the details of doing an NA-T build, parts necessary, labor involved, basically perfect for lazy bastards like myself. i vote yes!

There is but it seems that it is more catered to the already turbo charged from factory RX7s. It would be great if there was even a sub section for this.

Exactly my thoughts.

This is a busy forum so you get a lot of irrelevant search results.

Keep the voting going.

Maybe some thoughts from moderators or people who would be the final deciding factor?

Correct me if i am wrong... but cant you usually tell who said "no" by clicking on the "no" word?

Maybe OP set to private or something.

Yeah I did, I dunno why but I have never seen a public poll so I kept it checked.

On an added note, the 2nd gen section of the forum from my understanding by far gets the most traffic. So clearly we need a little more organization than other sections of the forum.

I think a 6 port Turbo section is long over due. We should have several different ways to turbo your NA, and there are people doing several different ideas/designs. It would help people contemplating the swap/mod to get a better understanding of the ways in which they could achieve their goals and the price in which it would cost. Wether its a seperate section or a sub section, it needs to happen.

Technically not a thread, but this guide is quoted all over these boards.

Excellent idea. I don't think it would be slow because most of the 2nd gens on the road in the US are probably NA's. So yes the number of 6PT cars are relatively small, but the number of NA guys fantasizing or planning for a turbo project are probably quite high. Most of the activity would probably be from the NA owners planning boost and it will help facilitate their projects by allowing them to view different setups, write ups, comments and experiences as opposed to having one write-up written by a person whose mechanical skills and dedication greatly exceed that of the average 2nd gen owner.

The Aaron cake method of a "true" 6 port turbo is not the easiest, cost effective and most reliable way to turbo a 13B engine. Thus it should be discarded by those who don't have a welder and fabrication skills and experience. I think in most cases it has scared away potential 6 port turbo'ers and forced them to either ditch their plans or buy a junk J-spec engine and cross their fingers.

Good idea.... But it won't happen.

I agree that there should be a sticky of some sort on n/a-t info. Or people could just search? Not being negative as my vote is still yes.

i think this would be a great idea, When i was gathering parts and info on this just before i did my s5 6-port turbo i had to spend alot of time sifting thru alot of dead ends. Also i felt bad with all my pm's to arroncake about the subject, but he did give me alot of usefull info.
