Well, you can use any aftermarket flywheel you want really as long as it fits the tranny you are going to use (TII I assume) so a TII aftermarket flywheel will sork fine since the motors are automatics and come with the counterweight for them. The FD flywheel has not been confirmed to be the same weight as the Cosmo so I would be weary of that.

Other than that, you will need an intercooler and some piping for the radiator connections. Basic things like that.

PS. We are down to one in stock since MIKE-P-28 bought our other one

Yelp I got the other one

On the flywheel id recommend going with a lightened flywheel and using the stock rear counterweight. I was gonna try a FD flywheel (removing the rear counterweight and changing the front one to a FD) but FD's use a pull clutch instead of a push one. So dunno what you would do about fitting a clutch to it unless you go with a FD tranny.

Yeah and I was bout to ask what the hell you were gonna do for mounts. This mounts on the rear housing and not the middle like the FC...I got the same problem but mines going into a FB and I have to change front cover, and water pump housing not to mention I have to machine the water pump housing for the FB to one with water in/outs for the turbo. Also have to modify front cover for oil return fromt he turbo.

Another thing to take into consideration is the OMP, its got like 5 or 6 wires going to it, instead of being mechanical like all 79-88 Rx-7's.

Other thing is what are you gonna do for a turbo? You gonna use the twins in a non seq format. This is a major one for me, I have studied the internet for probally 20-25 hours the last 4 days.

Good luck and you couldnt get it from a better person than Dave...

PS you are gonna need a pilot bearing and seal, these dont have 1

Dave is a good guy, speak from experiance

And that pilot bearing, I took a part a friends 87 13b and it had no needle bearings left in the bearing! Think thats why it went though 2 transmissions?? lol So I'd make sure you remember to put that in there

any aftermarket flywheel will bolt to the couter weight on the motor. to put it in a first gen you need to swap front covers, use the 12a metering pump. you can either use the cosmo water pump or an 87-88t2 water pump. the t2 will accept the tstat cover from the 12a and use the 12a upper radiator hose.

yah we are doing one this weekend too. 13brew cosmo into 89t2. we are using fd twins (our motor didnt have a downpipe, and the fd downpipes fit the fc, and the turbos are easy to get here) and they are going to be sequential, run with a power fc.
